"[Under that imperial system], authority flowed downward from monarchs, aristocratic families, and financial institutions tied to imperial power centered in places like the City of London."
Dr Trozzi, what a hoot -- just change the words "downward from" to "upwards to". 2026!
Dear Dr. Trozzi—huge thanks for your tireless work. We get why Matthew Ehret’s research resonates, we don’t like globalists either! But his push for Canada joining China’s Belt and Road initiative (in his book ‘The Time Has Come for Canada to Join the New Silk Road’ (2017)) raises real red flags for us—especially sovereignty and human rights. It has several glowing quotes from Xi Jinping, which should make any true Canadian patriot concerned. As someone who has worked in the history field for decades, I also note lack of sourcing for many references in his book. Curious if he ever unpacked that Silk Road angle with you? Appreciate the dialogue.
Matthew is a patriot and incredibly knowledgeable.
